Ernestene King Davis

Ernestene King Davis, age 85, a former resident of 1313 Fuller Street, died Sunday September 16, 2012 in a local nursing home.Born in Roberson County on October 11, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Lester Helton King and Rannie Kinlaw King.
She was a self-employed seamstress, and was a member of Harriett Baptist Church where she was formerly active in the church WOM (Women of Mission).
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 P.M. in the J.M. White Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Will Breedlove. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty D. McKee of Chesapeake VA and Ann D. Ayscue of Henderson; four sisters, Paula K. Zimburg of Oxford, Rachel K. Russ of Dublin, Ruthie K. Byrd and Wilma K. Duncan, both of Tarheel; three brothers, Nash H. King of Henderson, Charles King of Clarkton, and William E. King of Bunn Level; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Chesley Davis; a son, Willie F. Davis, II; a sister, Thelma K. Davis; and a brother, Lester King, Jr.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM at J.M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of Marty and Ann Ayscue, 165 West Creek Rd. Henderson, 27537.
Serving as active pall bearers will be the men of Harriett Baptist Church.
Arrangements are by J.M. White Funeral Home.
