CREEDMOOR-Ernestine Johnson Lewis, 91, of Granville County passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Brantwood Nursing Home.Born on November 18, 1925 in Marion County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Louis C. "Nip" Lewis and Flossie Collins Johnson.She was a member of Crystal River Church of God in Henderson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2017at 2 pm in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Charles Ray Anderson.Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Christian Church in Franklinton, NC.
She is survived by her sons, Marvin Lewis, Jr. (Barbara) of Youngsville and Roger Lewis (Shirley) of Stem; daughters, Jeannette Hicks (Homer) of Rowland, Geraldine "Gerrie" Reynolds (Jackie) of Warrenton, Brenda Autrey (Dannie) of Creedmoor, and Betty Brogden (Ricky) of Creedmoor; 25 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren; and 15 great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husbands Marvin Lewis, Sr.(55 Years) and Clifton Carter, Sr.;daughter, Barbara Ruth "Bobbie" Lewis; son, Joseph Levon"Joe" Lewis, Sr.; daughters-in-law, Linda Vanwort Lewis and Rosolene Leonard Lewis; grandchildren, James Rayford "Jamie" Ross, Jr; Sandra "Sandy" Lewis, Kelly Jean Brogden and William Jason Brogden; grandson-in-law, Charlie Burgess, Sr.; greatgrandson, Christopher "Chris" Kindred; three sisters, Ruth Page, Nina Johnson, and Alma Collins; and brothers, James Johnson and Lewis Carmi "Coley" Johnson, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday prior to the service from 1 until 2 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home in Henderson.At other times they will be at the home of Brenda and Dannie Autry, 2155 Tar River Road, Creedmoor.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Jay Autrey
Timmy Lewis, Ricky Brogden, Jr., Tony Lewis, Earl Pendleton, Jr., and Keith Brame.
