HENDERSON-EthelBriggs Hayes, 97, a resident of 423 Corbitt Road, died, Saturday, March 31, 2018, in a local nursing home.Born on February 20, 1921 in Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Fred Briggs and Roxie Ragan Briggs.Mrs. Hayes a member of Dexter Baptist Church and the Hicks Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at2 pm atJ. M. White Funeral Home by the Rev. Wayne Clark and the Rev. Neil Woodlief .Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by her husband, Willard Hayes of the home; one brother Ernest Briggs of Durham; one sister, Barbara B. Hart of Durham; and one granddaughter, Heather Nicole Whaley.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steve Bryant Dickerson.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 pm prior to the service on Tuesday at J. M. White Funeral Home.
