OXFORD - Etta Gooch Bowlin, 86, formerly of Community House Road, died Monday, March 24, 2025. Born September 21, 1938 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late David Hugh Bowlin and Ila Mae Glover Bowlin. She was a lifetime member of Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church where funeral services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. by Rev. Scott Downs and Rev. Ron McCracken. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Miss Bowlin is survived by a sister, Mary Alice Stanley of Henderson; a niece, Sherie Ayscue Williams (Will) of Henderson; a nephew, David Ayscue (Andrea) of Raleigh; two great nieces, Amanda Long and Logan Gustafson (Clark); three great-nephews, Justin Long (Annabel), Cameron Long (Laura) and Kane Ayscue; and a great-great nephew, Kent Gustafson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jenny Mae Bowlin and two brothers-in-law, Harold Ayscue and George Stanley. The family will receive friends following the service on Saturday in the fellowship hall of Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church. Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Long, Cameron Long, Kane Ayscue, Clark Gustafson, Spot Burwell and Ricky Floyd.
