HENDERSON- Miss Evelyn Elizabeth Baker, age 90, a resident of Senior Citizens Nursing Home, died Monday, October 28, 2013.Born in Vance County on March 3, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Nathan T. Baker and Bessie Clopton Baker.She retired from Harriett and Henderson Yarns, was a member of the former North Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church and attended Crystal River Church of God.
Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Sunset Gardens conducted by the Rev. Charles Ray Anderson.
She is survived by eight nieces, Judy Lewis and Ellen Taylor of Henderson, Patty Ratliff of Tennessee, Kathy Gray, Donna Craven and Teresa Vermillion of Virginia, and Ann Sampson of Oregon; two nephews, Frank Miller of Henderson and Mark Sampson of Oregon; six great nieces and several great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Addie Twisdale, Margaret Sampson, and Bessie West; two brothers, Joseph Baker and Thurman Baker; and two nephews, Herbert Miller and Mike Sampson.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Sunset Gardens.At other times they will be at the home of Charles and Judy Lewis, 85 West Creek Road, Henderson.
