Evelyn Rainey Lotz

HENDERSON-Evelyn Rainey Lou Lotz, age 87, a resident of 143 Dabney Woods Lane, died Friday, December 2, 2016 at her home.Born on November 15, 1929 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Vernard A. Rainey and Leafy King Rainey.She was a former Director for the Board Of Elections for Wood County, Ohio.Evelyn was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the UMYF Circle and the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 pm at First United Methodist Church by the Rev. Terry Huffines.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
Mrs. Lotz is survived by three daughters, Joyce Lotz of Henderson, Deborah L. Stukey of Buckhead Georgia and Susan L. Nicholas and husband, Mike of Henderson; two grandchildren, Michael Nicholas, II and wife Meagan and Michaela Nicholas; two great-granddaughters, Madison and Makenzie; one brother, John Rainey of Henderson; and one sister, Vera Gatano of Henderson. She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth R. Newman.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 pm on Monday at First United Methodist Church.At other times they will be at the home of Sue and Mike Nicholas at 143 Dabney Woods Lane.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Mike Rainey, Ray Rainey, Tommy Frazier, Bobby Newman, Bruce Newman, and Pete Newman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 114 Church Street, Henderson, NC27536, or the the Vance County Animal Shelter, 1243 Brodie Road, Henderson, NC27537.
