Evelyn Murray

-Evelyn Murray, age 94, a resident of Universal Health Care in Raleigh, and a former resident of Lynne Ave. in Henderson, died Wednesday, January 02, 2013, at the William Dunlap Hospice Center in Raleigh.
Born in Granville County on February 23, 1918, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Murray and Mary Fannie Oakes Murray.She was a retired Accounting Clerk with the former Roses Stores, Inc.Miss Murray was a graduate of Henderson Business College and was a member of West End Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 PM in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Ralph McGowan. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Oxford, NC.
She is survived by her niece, Amy Stainback Myrick and husband, Paul Myrick, of Warrenton; and her nephew, William L. Bill Stainback and wife, Ferebee Poythress Stainback, of Raleigh; one sister-in-law, Edna Freeman Murray of Greensboro; and numerous third, forth, and fifth generation nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Stainback and Amy Murray; and two brothers, Ernest Murray and Ralph Murray; great great nephew, Daniel Franklin Giddens III.
The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 200 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC27607.
