HENDERSON – Fannie Mae Pendergrass Brame, 92, went peacefully to be with her Lord on April 3, 2025 at her home surrounded by her daughter and granddaughter. She was born September 25, 1932 in Vance County, the daughter of the late Mary Peoples Pendergrass, and Robert Lee Pendergrass. She was a longtime member of West End Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years and was a member of the Christian Fellowship Class. Mrs. Brame retired from Harriett & Henderson Yarns where she worked as a secretary. During retirement she enjoyed many years as an active part of the YMCA Water Aerobics Program, as well as her almost daily visits to Bojangles where she formed a special bond with an inner circle of friends. However, her happiest moments came when she spent time with her beloved granddaughter, Karen. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 6, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at West End Baptist Church by Rev. Cade Patterson. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Denise Brame Gill and husband, Alan of Henderson; a granddaughter, Karen Elizabeth Gill of Raleigh; two special nieces, Kathy Newcomb-Gibson and Ann Manning, both of Henderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Pendergrass, Pete Pendergrass and James Pendergrass; three sisters, Annie Pendergrass Powell, Lou Pendergrass Lovett and Julia Pendergrass Anderson; and a special nephew, Michael Anderson. The family will receive friends on Sunday prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. in the fellowship hall of West End Baptist Church and at other times at the home of Denise and Alan Gill, 1106 Closs Court, Henderson, NC 27536. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Gibson, Will Newcomb, Clyde Wilson, Leon Dillard, Bob Flowers and Jerry A. Ayscue.
