Farrell Neathery

HENDERSON-William Farrell Neathery, 82, a resident of 4376 Glebe Road, died Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham.Born on February 13, 1934 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Brodie Neathery and Blanche Nethery Neathery.Farrell was a retired department head at Burlington Industries in Clarksville, Va., and was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 pm at Island Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. J. Marshall Neathery.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Libby" Ellington Neathery of the home;
two sisters, Donnie Neathery Lamberth ofRaleigh and Yvonne Neathery Phelps of Henderson; and one brother, James Douglas Neathery of Henderson.Also surviving are many loving nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances N. Overby and Barbara N. Davis.
The family will receive friends on Sunday following the service at Island Creek Baptist Church.At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Hal Davis, Heath Davis, Dale Pernell, Jonathan Pernell, Brent Pernell, and Chad Watkins.
