HENDERSON- Faye O’Brien Capps, 82 of South Woodland Road, died Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Rex Hospital. Faye was born on September 24, 1940 in Granville County. She was the daughter of the late Nannie Belle Matthews O’Brien and Charlie Cornelious O’Brien. Faye graduated from Stovall High School in 1958, then attended business school. She retired from Carolina Power and Light Company after 24 years of service. She was also involved in helping her husband manage their textile company, Commercial Seaming, which has been in operation for more than 45 years. Faye was a member of the Woodland Garden Club for many years. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Island Creek Baptist Church, where Faye was a lifelong member. Reverend Johnny Yount will preside over the services. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens. The family will receive friends at the home after the burial. Faye is survived by her husband of 63 years, John Douglas Capps of the home. Faye and Doug had a lifelong love that began when they were in the 6th grade and continued throughout their lifetime. Faye and Doug have one daughter, Kimberly Capps Drake. Kimberly is married to Wilton Rodwell Drake III, and they have one son, Levy Miles Drake (9). One of Faye’s most favorite roles in life, was being Levy’s “Nana”. Serving as pallbearers will be Stewart Capps, Stephen Capps, Dennis Edwards, Eddie Shearin, Larry Hogge and Brad Fleming.
