HENDERSON- Ferebee Fletcher Pegram, 92, died Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Granville House. Born September 28 1931, in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Bessie Ranes Fletcher and William Henry Fletcher, Sr. and was the widow of Elmus Watkins Pegram, Jr. She graduated in 1950 from Middleburg High School. Ferebee formerly worked in both the Rocky Mount City and Vance County school systems as a teacher’s assistant. She was a member of First Baptist Church Henderson where she was active in the JOY Sunday School Class. A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Sunset Gardens Cemetery by Dr. Ronald S. Cava. She is survived by four sons, Julian Pegram (Patricia) of Youngsville, Bill Pegram (Reenie) of Topsail Island, Bobby Pegram (Beth) of Henderson, and Walter Pegram (Kim) of Henderson; six grandchildren, Will Pegram (Alisa), Josh Pegram (Cody), Allison Pegram, Luke Pegram, Colin Pegram, Sadie Pegram; and two brothers, Charles Fletcher of Henderson and Jimmy Fletcher of Oxford. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amy Pegram; a brother, W.H. Fletcher, Jr. and a sister, Ruth Woodlief. The family will receive friends following the service on Thursday at Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
