FRANKLINTON- Frances Tippett Crews Hicks, 71, of Gram’s Road, died Monday, February 1, 2021 at her home.Born in Granville County on May 10, 1949, she was the daughter of the late John Hinton Tippett and Mildred O’Neal Wrenn.Frances was retired from Coventry Insurance Company where she worked as a provider specialist.She was a member of Marrow’s Chapel United Methodist Church and attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church.Frances had a servant’s heart, always making an effort to help those with any need, and her favorite pastime was fishing.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Meadowview Memorial Park in Oxford by Rev. Carl Hunter.
She is survived by her husband, Arnold Bobby Hicks of the home; a daughter, Rosanne C. Davis and husband, Andy of Henderson; two sons, John Crews of Washington, DC and Ray Crews and wife, Tiffany of Jacksonville, FL; a step-son, Kevin Hicks of Roxboro; three step-daughters, Bobbie Kay Hicks of Kenly, Bridget Evans of Princeton, and Tonya Thompson of LaGrange; five grandchildren, Zack, Madaline, Jordan, Nicholas and Luke; ten step-grandchildren, Sharon, Kristen, Brandi, Shiyane, Katelin, Cody, Trey, Angel, Jessica and Craig; two step-great grandchildren, M.J. and Damian; and two sisters, Julia Minor of Oxford and Carol Short and husband, Tim, of Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray F. Crews, Jr. and a brother, William Tippett.
Mrs. Hicks may be viewed between the hours of 10 AM and 5 PM Friday, February 5 at J.M. White Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends following the service at Meadowview.
