HENDERSON-Frances Stanton "Frankie" Matthews, 79, a resident of Henderson, died Monday, October 12, 2020 at Maria Parham Health after a brief illness.Born on June 14, 1941 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Tucker Ballard Stanton and Lucy Conn Stanton.
Frankie was employed as a secretary at the former Harriett & HendersonJ. D. Mills, and was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 pm in the chapel of J. M. White Funeral Home by the Dr. Carolyn Roy.Burial will follow in the Union Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Edgar William "Eddie" Matthews of the home; one daughter, Tina M. Knott (Michael) of Henderson; two sons, Joe Moore of Henderson and Russell Moore (Barbara) of La Grange; two brothers, Charles Stanton and Billy C. Stanton of Henderson; eight grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Anne S. Briggs; and one brother, Jerry Stanton.
The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 until 1:50 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Billy J. Stanton, Billy T. Stanton, Danny Stanton, Stan Briggs, Stephen Overton, Allen Foster, and Christopher Lloyd.
Attendees at the service, visitation, and those visiting at the home are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
