JACKSONVILLE, FL.-Thomas Franklin "Frank" Clay, 74, formerly of Henderson and Midlothian, Virginia, died Thursday November 2, 2017, at McGraw House Hospice Center in Jacksonville, Florida.Born in Winston-Salem on December 20, 1942, he was the son of the late William Clifton Clay, Jr. and Bessie Duke Hall Clay. Frank received his BS Degree from The University of Richmond and a Masters Degree from Yale University.
He was a retired teacher from the Virginia School System and also retired from Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company, now Verizon.After his retirements, he worked with adult education for the State of Virginia.
Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, November 9, 2017, at 11 am at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. Chuck Craddoc.
He is survived by one brother, Andy Clay of Ponte Vedra, Florida; two sisters, Sally Clay and Molly Clay Kearney of Heber Springs, Arkansas; and eight nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Duke Clay; and two brothers, Danny Clay and W. C. Clay, III.
The family will receive friends on Thursday prior to the service from 10:00 until 10:45 am at
J. M. White Funeral Home.
