HENDERSON-Franklin Thomas Whittemore, 66, a resident of 1712 Wendover Road, died Saturday, August 26, 2017, at his home.Born on August 26, 1951 in Vance County, he was the son of Thomas Franklin Whittemore and Amy Guerrant Whittemore of Henderson.Thomas retired from the North Carolina National Guard where he served 27 years and was retired from Sears where he worked for 43 years as a Service Technician.
He attended Central Baptist Church where a memorial service will be held Tuesday at 3 pm by the Rev. Randy Mann.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Desiree Pernell Whittemore of the home; two daughters, Renee W. Daniel (Brian) and Cheree W. Collins (Brad); one son, Chad T. Whittemore (Hannah); five grandchildren, Whitt Daniel, Ethan Collins, Ben Daniel, Abi Kate Collins, and Cole Whittemore; two sisters, Christine Brame and Shelia Fleming; and one brother, Michael Whittemore all of Henderson.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday from 1:30 until 2:45 pm in the Fellowship Hall at Central Baptist Church.At other times they will be at the home on Wendover Road.
