Fred Eugene King, 87, a resident of Henderson, died Thursday, June 11, 2020, in a local nursing home. Born on July 11, 1932 in Warren County, he was the son of the late Vance Eugene King and Mabel Whittemore King. Fred attended John Graham High School and served in the United States Army for three years during the Korean War. He was a member of Living Stones Church of God in Oxford and a retired electrician at the Sharon Harris Nuclear Power Plant.
A memorial service will be held for Fred and Elaine King on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Milton Abbott.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Evans King of Henderson (since deceased); three children, Teresa K. Baldwin and husband, Eddie and Fred E. King, Jr. and wife, Olga, and Linda K. Clayton all of Henderson; three sisters, Sally Anderson and husband, Donald and Gloria Korb all of Madison, and Selma Cherry of Greenville; two grandchildren, Melanie Baldwin-Jones and husband, Steven of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Daniel Clayton of Raleigh. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Vaughan and one brother, Thelbert King. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P. M. on Saturay at J.M. White Funeral Home.
