HENDERSON-Fred Walter Harris, age 66, a resident of 5314 NC 39 Hwy. S, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Maria Parham Medical Center after a lengthy illness.Born on January 5, 1944 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Turner Harris and Arlene Satterwhite Harris.He was formerly employed with Harriett & Henderson Yarns, Inc as Head Mechanic at the North Henderson Plant, and attended Freedom Life Church of God.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jeff Prewer and the Rev. William Wagoner.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Jenny Duke Harris, of the home; one daughter, Lynn H. Adams of Nashville; one son, Donald W. Harris of Henderson; four sisters, Marie H. Adcock, Judy H. Pendergrass, Juanita H. Patton, and Debbie H. Milton all of Henderson; three brothers, George Harris, Robert Harris, and Tony Harris all of Henderson; ten grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by one sister, Rose Gail Harris, one brother, Gene Harris; and one granddaughter.
The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will e at the home at 5314 NC 39 S.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Jamie Elliott, Chris Moss, Robert Roberson, Clint Harris, Rodney Patton, and Chris Winn.
Arrangements are by J. M. White Funeral Home.
