HENDERSON- Freddie Leach Sanford, 81, of Newton Dairy Road, died Friday January 17, 2025 at Granville Medical Center. Born September 3, 1943 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Fred L. Sanford and Maude Faucette Sanford and was the widower of Dina Hanford Sanford. He was retired from Quality Equipment where he worked as the Parts Manager and was a member of Raleigh Road Baptist Church. Freddie was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. Funeral services will be held Monday January 20, 2025 at 2:00 PM by Rev. Wayne Clark and Rev. George Williams in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial will be at Sunset Gardens. Freddie is survived by his son, Dennis Sanford (Raven) of Henderson; three grandchildren, Bailee Sanford, Colton Sanford and Chance Sanford; three sisters, Nell Rose Clark and Sylvia Arnold both of Henderson and Carolyn Denton of Zebulon; and one brother, Gilbert Sanford of Jacksonville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Lou Pegram; and three brothers, Albert Gene Sanford, Marshall Sanford, and Richard Sanford. The family would like to extend thanks to Patricia Adcock and Lynn Menikos for their kind and compassionate care of Freddie. The family will receive friends following the service on Monday at J.M. White Funeral Home; and at other times at the home of Dennis and Raven Sanford, Daniel Harris Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
