FREDDIE W. THOMPSON, SR.
MOREHEAD CITY-Freddie Wilson Thompson, Sr., age 81, a resident of 2202 North Road, died Thursday, August 26, 2010, at Taylor Extended Care in Seal Level.
Born in Franklin County on June 19, 1929, he was the son of the late Jamie ThurstonThompson and Selma Lee Gupton.He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving during World War 11 and the Korean War. He was retired owner and operator of Modern Lightening Rod Protection.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held Sunday at 2:30 pm at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. Frank Sossamon.
He is survived by two daughters, Sherry Dupree of Harkers Island and Tania Quick of Willow Springs; one brother, J. T. Thompson of Henderson; one sister, Shirley Pearce of Raleigh; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.He was preceded in death by one son, Freddie Wilson Thompson, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:30 pm on Sunday prior to the service at Sunset Gardens.
