LOUISBURG- Gary Lee Ayscue, 74, of Leonard Road, died Monday, November 20, 2023 at Maria Parham Health. Born June 15, 1949 in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Mary Lou Abbott Ayscue and Robert Nathaniel Ayscue. Gary was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, where he rose to the rank of Staff Sargent and served with the military police from 1968-1972. He was owner and a majority stock holder of the former Duke’s Rebuilders. Gary was also a member of Mt. Gilead Independent Baptist Church. A private memorial service will be held for the family. Gary is survived by his wife, Patricia Finch Walker-Ayscue and a step-son, Jake Dennis Walker of the home; his daughter, Masa Ayscue Reaves (Derrill) of Epsom, his son, Leon Thomas Ayscue (Jo Ann) of Greensboro; two grandchildren, Garrett Page Reaves and Callie Lynn Reaves; three sisters, Peggy A. Ayscue of Hendersonville, Catherine A. Duke Harrison (Claude) of Henderson, and Bessie A. Simpson (Steve) of Monroe; and two brothers, Michael Wayne Ayscue (Jo Ann) of Rocky Ford and Felton Ray Ayscue of Butner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert N. Ayscue, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Gilead Independent Baptist Church Missions Fund, P.O. Box 564 Louisburg, NC 27549.
