Georgie Christopher"G.C." Tant, Jr., age 72, a resident of 7829 Hwy. 39 S, died
Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Maria Parham Health.Born on May 29, 1945 in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Georgie Christopher Tant, Sr. and Rachel Sykes Tant Newton, and was the widower of Linda Gravitt Tant."G.C." was the former owner and operator of The Country Grocery in Epsom.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Sunday April 15, at 3:00 pm in the Rogers Cemetery in Creedmoor by the Rev. Caroline Allen.
He is survived by two daughters, Sheila Baker of Durham and Katina Buck (Asa III) of Beaufort; and three grandchildren, Sarah Baker, Haleigh Phillips, and Asa Buck IV.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Nelson Tant.
The family will receive friends before the service from 2:30 to 3:00 pm and following the service at the Rogers Cemetery.
