HENDERSON-Willis Eugene "Gene" King, 86, of 1055 St. Andrews Church Road, died Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at Maria Parham Health.Born on July 11, 1933 in Granville County, he was the son of the late David Winston King, Sr. and Sally Overton King.Gene was a retired contractor and member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church.
Due to coronavirus regulations, we are required to limit attendance at funeral services to immediate family members totaling 50 or less.A private graveside service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Sunset Gardens by Rev. Robin Farner and Rev. Michael Hobbs.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Roberson King of the home; three daughters, Pamela K. Strickland and husband Glenn of Chesterfield, VA, Donna K. Green and husband, Dwight of Henderson; and Tina K. Abbott and husband, David of Henderson; a son, Randall Eugene King and wife, Tonya of Henderson; two sisters, Mae K. Wester of Oxford and Rebecca K. Faulkner of Henderson; a sister-in-law, Sarah King; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Winston King, Jr.
Serving as pallbearers will be Hunter King, Tyler McDaniel, Joshua Green, Jason Green, Nicholas Garrett, David Meszaros, Matthew Swanson and Cam Greene.
