George Lee Newhouse

HENDERSON- Mr. George Lee Newhouse, age 75, a resident of 327 Franklin Road, died Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Franklin Oaks Nursing Center.Born in Vance County on April 14, 1939, he was the son of the late John Newhouse and Velma West Newhouse.He was the owner and operator of Newhouse Builders. He was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church and the Mens Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00AM at Cokesbury United Methodist Church by Rev. Julia Alliger.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Kearney Newhouse of the home, two daughters, Angie Newhouse Ryan and husband Richard of Newport and Sherri Newhouse Matthews and husband Jeff of Henderson; three grandchildren, Joshua Ryan, Ashlyn Matthews, and Jace Ryan; two brothers, John H. Newhouse of Lumberton and Roy C. Newhouse, Sr. of Henderson; andspecial family friend, Susan Adcock Klementowski.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 PM till 8:30 PM at J.M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be J.R. Stainback, T.J. Perkinson, Alan Faulkner, Carlton Newhouse, Bill Atkinson and Tim Newhouse.
Serving as honorary pall bearers will be Susan Perkinson, Susan Adcock Klementowski, Sandy Rose Vaughan, Lynn Glover, Robin Kearney and Becky Crowder.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cokesbury United Methodist Church, C/O Ruth Moss, 1705 Allison Cooper Road, Henderson, NC 27537.
