Geraldine Perry Wood

HENDERSON- Geraldine Patsy Perry Wood, 87, of Kelly Road, died Sunday, September 6, 2026 at her home. Born July 14, 1939 in Wake County, she was the daughter of the late Eloise Raper Perry and William Avery Perry. Geraldine was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she also worked as the church bookkeeper, sang in the choir and was a pianist.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. by Dr. Gene Wood and Rev. Ricky Easter. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens Cemetery.

Geraldine is survived by her husband, Dr. Roy Eugene “Gene” Wood of the home; her son, Stephen Daniel Wood of Virginia Beach; her granddaughter, Brittany Michelle Wood and her great grandson, Karson Daniel Wood.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Wayne Perry, Wilber Perry and Earl Perry.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chuck Parrish, Ernest McFarland, Calvin Mills, Phillip Brackins, Phillip Tippett and Gary Pulley. 

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday beginning at 11:30 A.M. at Calvary Baptist Church.
