Gladys Marie Ross

Gladys Marie Ross, 76, of Southerland Mill Road, died Monday, September 25, 2023 at her home. Born September 23, 1947 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Wesley Ross, Jr. and Sarah Virginia Harrison Ross. She retired from Nunnery Freeman BBQ restaurant where she worked as a waitress. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Jeff Prewer. Burial will follow in Carey Baptist Church Cemetery. Marie is survived by her daughter, Amy Lynn Willard (Douglas) of Henderson; two sons, Raymond F. Vaughan of Henderson and Timothy Wayne Vaughan (Gale) of Wilmington; her sister, Debbie R. Coghill (Mike) of Henderson; two brothers, Marvin Ross, III (Janet) and Elton Ross, both of Henderson; five grandchildren, Whitney Vaughan, Brittany Vaughan, Kelsey Vaughan, Gabrielle Willard and Zachary Willard; and seven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. and at other times they will be at the home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Elaine Stuart, a brother, James Ross and a great granddaughter.
