HENDERSON-Grace Wright Kearney, 93, a resident of Henderson, died Monday, May 04, 2020, at Maria Parham Health from complications of congestive heart failure.Born on August 8, 1926 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Otis Benjamin Wright and Elizabeth Falkner Wright, and was the widow of David Jones Kearney.She was retired from Variety Seafood and after retirement worked at the Henderson Family YMCA.She was a member of New Sandy Creek Baptist Church.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private graveside memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 AM in the New Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Blake Jackson
She is survived by two daughters, Janice K. Stovall (Jerry) of Henderson and Donna K. Martin (Kyle) of Wake Forest, one son, David A. Kearney of Henderson; four grandchildren, Jonathan C. Adcock, Daniel W. Stovall, Ashley K. Bean (Michael), Hunter J. Kearney; four great grandchildren, Caleb Grissom, Christian Bean, Noah Bean, and Levi Bean; and two special nieces, Carolyn Ellington and Gail Prather.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey B. Kearney; five sisters, Lillie Mae W. Roberson, Helen W. Edwards, Nellie W. Fleming, Dorothy W. Kearney, and Hazel W. Harris; and four brothers, Otha Wright, Perry "Bill" Wright, Roy Wright, and Durward Wright.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC27615.
