HENDERSON- Mrs. Grace Edwards Mitchell, age 86, a longtime resident of Henderson, and resident of Suffolk, VA since 2009, died September 13, 2015 at Autumn Care in Suffolk.Born in Warren County on October 1, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Henry R. Edwards and Irene Vaughan Edwards.Mrs. Mitchell was a member of First Congregational Christian Church and worked as a private duty nurses aid.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday at 1:00 PM at New Sandy Creek Baptist Church by Rev. George Williams.
She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Jamie Collins of Suffolk, VA and numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by twelve siblings.
The family will receive friends following the service on Friday at New Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
