HENDERSON- Graham Edward Shearin, age 82, entered into the presence of the Lord, Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham. Born in Vance County on April 12, 1936, he was the son of the late Julia Short Shearin and Jessie Lee Shearin. Graham was the owner and operator of Shearins Tire Service in Oxford, a member of The Church of The Holy Innocents, a veteran of The United States Army and was a former member of the Henderson Lions Club where he served as President.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 pm at The Church of The Holy Innocents by The Rev. Donald A. Lowery and The Rev. John Yount. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife Mary Skipwith Shearin; one daughter, Veneal S. Williams (Don) of Spartanburg, SC; one son, Eddie S. Shearin (Melody) of Henderson; one sister, Joyce Ann S. Keeton (Al) of Hampton, VA; four grandchildren, Courtney Abbott, Craig Bailey, Jr., Ben Williams, Anna Webb (Chas) and all of his loyal customers and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Jessie L. Shearin Jr.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:30 until 3 pm in the Great Hall at The Church of The Holy Innocents. At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Craig Bailey Jr., Ben Williams, Chas Webb, Mitch Keeton, Harvey Shearin, Darrin Hawke, and Kendall Lovings.
Honorary pallbearers will be all employees of Shearins Tire Service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Church of The Holy Innocents 210 S. Chestnut St, Henderson, NC 27536.
