REV. GRANT J. BURNS
HENDERSON-Rev. Grant Junior Burns, age 78, a resident of 352 N. Lynnbank Road, died Friday, June 15, 2012, at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born on November 13, 1933 in Lee County, he was the son of the late Ulysses Grant Burns and Erma Thomas Burns.Grant was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War.He was a retired contract hauler with the United States Postal Service, and was a retired minister in the United Church Of Christ for 12 years, and was a member at Fuller Chapel United Church Of Christ
A memorial service will be held Sunday June 17, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Fuller Chapel United Church Of Christ by the Rev. Tammy Ayscue.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Coghill Burns of the home; two sons, Mark Burns and Wayne Burns both of Henderson; one sister, Sylvia Burns Collins of Sanford; one brother, Sammy Burns of LaGrange, GA; and five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall of Fuller Chapel United Church Of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fuller Chapel United Church Of Christ Building Fund, c/o Dolores Grissom, 140 E. Main Street, Kittrell, NC27544.
