Ernest Linder Davis and Ethel Tarkington Davis.Ray was a retired installation supervisor at the former Carolina Telephone and Telegraph Co. He was a member of Island Creek Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, and was a former member of the Kerr Lake Country Club Board of Directors, the Mellow Yellow Golf Group, Bojangles Breakfast Club, and the Townsville Lions Club.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 pm at Island Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Marshall Neathery.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by two daughters, Heather Davis Greiter and husband, Blake of Wake Forest, and Marsha Davis Jones of Greenville, NC; two sons, Hal Daniel Davis and wife, Pam of Youngsville and Heath Neathery Davis and wife, Kim of Henderson; six grandchildren, Cassidy Davis, Connor Davis, Lilly Greiter, Brodie Greiter, Owen Davis, and Wyatt Fountain; three great-grandchildren Sarah Fountain, Anna Fountain, and Grace Fountain; one sister, Joyce Davis Hardison of Jamesville NC; and five brothers, Billy Bulluck and Jerry Bulluck of Battleboro, Jack Davis of Raleigh, Harry Davis, and Phillip Davis of Roper NC.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Neathery Davis; and his sister who raised him after his mother died when he was eight, Lucy Davis Bulluck and her husband, Plez Bulluck; and one brother Otis Bulluck.
The family will receive friends Monday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at his home on Glebe Road.
Serving as pallbearers will br Dale Pernell, Brent Pernell, Jonathan Pernell, George Grissom, Dean Bulluck, and Woody Parrish. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the G. W. Norwood Sunday School Class.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Island Creek Baptist Church, 950 Stagecoach Road, Henderson, NC27537.
