Harold Hartwell Brame, age 73, a resident of 3185 Tungsten Mine Road, died Saturday, November 1, 2014, at his home. Born on March 9, 1941 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Raymond Jackson Brame, Sr. and Blanche Helen Ellington Brame. He was retired from Burlington Mills and Variety Wholesales, and was a member of Harris Chapel United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 pm at Tungsten Baptist Church by the Rev. Sam Brewer. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
He is survived by four step-sons, Todd Adcock of Hickory, Bobby Adcock of Maury, Jeff Elliott and Timmy Elliott both of California; four sisters, Dianne B.Overby and husband, Jackie, Sarah B. King, Annette B. Reaves and husband, Jerry of Henderson, and Mae B. Vaughan of Norlina. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley C. Adcock Brame; his longtime companion, Joyce Compton; two brothers, Raymond Jackson "Jabo" Brame, Jr. and Alton Randolph "Randy" Brame; and his brothers-in-law, David King, Jr. and Horace Vaughan.
The family received friends Tuesday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home. At other times they were at the home of Jerry and Annette Reaves at 1711 St. Andrews Church Road.
Serving as active pall bearers were, Neil Barton, David King III, Derrill Reaves,Josh Brame, Jackie Overby, and Jerry Reaves.
