Harry Daniel Hartsell, age 82, a resident of 1277 David Avenue, died Wednesday, February 09, 2011, at Duke University Hospital.Born in Wake County on June 6, 1928, he was the son of the late Alberta Douglas Hartsell and Eliza Willett Hartsell.
He was formerly employed with the Henderson Police Department and was a former credit manager for Henderson Furniture Company.Mr. Hartsell was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a former Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church by the Rev. George D. Speake and Dr. Donald Phillips.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Marie Henneberger Hartsell of the home; one son, Brian Daniel Hartsell and wife, Denise of Fayetteville; two grandchildren Eric Hartsell and Chris Hartsell; and two great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Douglas Hartsell and Alva Eugene Hartsell.
The family will receive friends Friday night from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 1277 David Avenue.
Serving as active pall bearers will be members of the Henderson Masonic Lodge # 229.
Serving as honorary pall bearers will be members of the Henderson Police Department, Henderson Shrine Club, and Henderson York Rite Masonic Bodies.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions made to the First United Methodist Church, 114 Church Street, Henderson, N. C. 27536.
