HENDERSON – Hazel Wilson Hamm, 93, a former resident of W. Parker Street, died Monday, December 16, 2024 at Granville House in Oxford. Born March 1, 1931 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Maggie Paschall Wilson and William Lee Wilson, and was the widow of Johnny Hartwell Hamm. She was a member of North Henderson Baptist Church and formerly worked for J. C. Penny Co. for 50 years. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by the Rev. Eddie Nutt. Burial will follow in the New Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Hazel is survived by a son, J. H. Hamm, Jr. (Kathie) of Henderson; a sister, Dot W. Knight of Raleigh, and a brother, Mac Wilson (Judy) of Kittrell. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Susie Bell Murphy; and four brothers, Raymond “Chuck” Wilson, Marshall E. “Skint” Wilson, Charles L. “Rue” Wilson and William Lee Wilson, Jr. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at J.M. White Funeral Home and at other times at the home of J.H. and Kathie Hamm, 692 Horseshoe Bend Road, Henderson, NC 27537. Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Parrish, Ricky Beck, Barry Horton, J. Beck Jr., T. L. Beck, Mike Wilson, and Scott Wilson. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to North Henderson Baptist Church, 1211 N. Garnett St., Henderson NC, 27536.
