HENDERSON- Mr. Herbert Clay Bowen, age 58, a resident of 2485 N. Lynnbank Road, died Sunday, January 25, 2015 at his home.Born March 1, 1956 in Vance County he was the son of the late Edwin Lewis Bowen, Sr. and Allie Leigh Slaughter Bowen of the home.He was medically retired from Time Warner Cable and was a veteran of the National Guard.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Frank Sossamon.Burial will follow in the New Sandy Creek Baptist Church cemetery.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Barbara B. Nelson of Bracey, VA and Joy Francis of Henderson; and three brothers, Edwin L. Bowen, Jr., Wesley D. Bowen, and Patrick S. Bowen all of Henderson.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday at 10AM at J.M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home, 2485 N. Lynnbank Road.
