HENDERSON-Hilda Foster Moore, age 83, a resident of 2141 158 By-Pass, died Friday, December 7, 2012, at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born in Franklin County on September 13, 1929, Hilda was the daughter of the late Sidney B. Foster and Estelle Eaves Foster of Epsom.She was the widow of Fred L. Moore.
Hilda was a loving and faithful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.To her family, she was known as Aunt Jenny, and she enjoyed being a homemaker before becoming the cafeteria cashier at Dabney Elementary School, where former students still recall her kindness.Hilda retired from Vance County Schools in 1992.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 11thin the Chapel of J. M. White Funeral Home with the Reverend. Tony Evans officiating.Burial will follow in the Poplar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include her son, Ron B. Moore (Norma) of Henderson; a granddaughter, Patricia M. Corson (Donald) of Madison, ME;a grandson, Roger Moore (Christina) of Warren County; and three cherished great grandchildren, Kyra Corson, Hunter Corson, and Tyler Munn.Hilda is also survived by three sisters, Helen F. Lancaster of Raleigh, Uldine F. Duckworth (Lewis) of Greensboro, and Ann F. Bartholomew (R.A.) of Henderson.Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Daphene H. Foster and Joan Moore both of Louisburg, and many loving nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Benjamin D. Foster and Harold C. Foster.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday prior to the service from 1:002:00 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at her home at 2141 US 158 By-Pass.
