Inez Barbee Callaway

Inez Barbee Callaway, 95, of Burning Tree Drive, died Monday, March 14, 2022 at her home. Born in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Jenny Lowder Barbee and John Barbee and was the widow of William Alexander “Bill” Callaway. She was retired from Belk where she worked as buyer. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Albemarle, as well as a member of the Eastern Star. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Callaway is survived by her daughter, Sue Callaway Gupton (Donald) of Henderson; two grandchildren, John William “Bill” Deese (Kelly) and Jodie Gupton Murrell (Michael); three great grandchildren, Gracie Deese, Katie Murrell, Eliza Murrell. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers and her faithful companion, Charlie. The family would like to extend special thanks to Kindred Hospice for their professional and loving care.
