KATHLEEN, GA- Inez Roberson Champion, age 74, aresident of Kathleen Georgia, and of 415 Flemingtown Road in Henderson, NC, died Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Heart of Georgia Hospice inPerry, Georgia.Born on April 16, 1942 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Claude M. Roberson and Lizzie Bell Robinson Roberson.Mrs. Champion graduated from Middleburg High School in 1960 and was a member of Harriett Baptist Church.On June 15, 1962, she married John Walter Champion who preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 pm in the J. M.White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. David Braddy. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberley Champion Moody, and son-in-law, Ret. Msgt Mitchell Moody, granddaughters, Ashlynne Moody and Brianne Poole and husband, Christopher James Ryan Poole; and two great grandsons, Hunter Jase Poole and Oliver James Ryan Poole all of Kathleen, Georgia; sisters, Lucille Roberson Franklin and Elsie Roberson King and husband, Eugene King of Henderson; brother, John Thomas Roberson of Henderson long time friend, David Orr ofHenderson; and several nieces, nephews, and friends who were all very special to her.She was preceeded in death by one sister, Mae Roberson Hughes; one brother, Claude Jasper "Dick" Roberson; and brother-in-law, John A. Franklin
The family will receive friends Saturday prior to the service from 1 until 2:00 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at her home.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Christopher James Ryan Poole, Glenn Strickland, Shields Tucker, Paul Moody, and Randall King.Serving as honorary pall bearers will be Bennett L. Franklin, Michael A. Franklin, David Orr, Edwin Yarbrough, David Abbott and Dwight Green.
