Inez Lantz Whitehorne

HENDERSON- Inez Lantz Whitehorne, 96, of Henderson and formerly of Portsmouth, VA, died Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at a local nursing home.Born in Preston, WV on July 03, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Rufus Lantz and Matilda Haddix Rivers.Mrs. Whitehorne was a homemaker and attended Calvary Baptist Church.
A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 2:30 PM at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Suffolk, VA by Pastor George Smyrnios.
Mrs. Whitehorne is survived by two sons, Howard L. Whitehorne, Jr. of Ft. Myers, FL and Joe W. Whitehorne and wife, Diane of Marysville, TN; a daughter, Wendy W. Edwards and husband Steve, of Henderson; six grandchildren, Angie W. Smyrnios and husband George, of Ft. Myers, FL, Lee Whitehorne and wife, Julie, of Chesapeake, VA, Chris Whitehorne of Alcoa, TN, Brian Whitehorne of Knoxville, TN, Jamie E. Anderson of Henderson, and Josh H. Edwards and wife, Kim of Durham; and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard L. Whitehorne, Sr. and a daughter-in-law, Betty Jean Whitehorne.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at the graveside on Saturday from 1:45 PM till 2:30 PM.
