Irene Dunning Buchanan, age 80, a resident of 2551 Stewart Farm Road, died Wednesday, July 06, 2016, at her home.Born in Hampton, VA on June 27, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Dunning, Sr. and Nellie Gray Dunning.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 AM in the J. M. White Funeral Home Chapel by Chaplain Para Drake.Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by her husband, Henry Howard Buchanan of the home; two daughters, Henrietta Buchanan Sutton of Henderson and Sharon Canady of Woodbridge, VA; one daughter-in-law, Beth Jones of Midlothian, VA; one brother, Leroy Dunning, Jr. of Rescue, VA; five grandchildren, Jacob Sutton, Alli S. Hilton, Kelly Spurtin, Nancy
Basista, Amy Tooker; nine great grandchildren; and one great grandchild.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Pam Winters; one son, Herbert Jones, Jr.; two grandchildren, Michele DeMille and John Jackson; two brothers, Keith Dunning and Pat Dunning; and four sisters, Virginia Dunning, Ruth Ann Thompson, Janice Martin, Brenda Tew.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home.
Serving as activepall bearers will be David Abbott, Colton Aiken, Brian Dunning, Blake Hilton, Scott Renn and Jacob Sutton.
