Irene Overton Jackson

Irene Overton Jackson, age 75, a resident of 314 Finch Road, died Monday, January 3, 2011, at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born in Vance County on August 21, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Crowell Lee Overton and Tempie Heck Ayscue Overton.Mrs. Jackson was a graduate of Epsom High School and was formerly employed at Britthaven Nursing Home.She was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Mt. Carmel Untied Methodist Church by the Rev. Bruce Beck and the Rev. Johnny Yount. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by one, James Lee Jackson of Henderson; two step-sons, Robert Jackson and Furman Jackson both of Henderson; three step grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth O. Bibee of Kittrell and Ann O. Marshall of Louisburg; two brothers, C. L. Overton, Jr. of Epsom and George Graham Overton of Fayetteville.She was preceded in death by her husband, James Cleveland J.C. Jackson; and one sister, Nancy O. Ayscue.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home of Roger and Elizabeth Bibee at 780 Egypt Mountain Road, Kittrell, N. C.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Lonnie Radford, Mike Radford, Kevin Overton, Joey Davis, Furman Jackson, Jr. and Roger Bibee.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 3167, Henderson, NC,27536.
