Irene Eubanks Whaley

HENDERSON-Irene Eubanks Whaley, age 88, a resident of 309 Yowland Road, died Saturday, April 07, 2012, at her home after several years of declining health. Born on November 5, 1923 in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Bosher Wayland B.W. Eubanks and Nannie Hicks Eubanks.She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 3:00 pm at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. Dennis Gossett.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah W. Finch and husband, Hal and Pat W. Pulley and husband David all of Henderson; five grandchildren, Anthony Scott Hughes, Gregory D. Gupton, David W. Pulley, Jr., John Walker Finch, and Deborah Leigh Finch; six great grandchildren; and two special caregivers, Shelly Veldhuizen and Christine Brake. She was preceded in death by her husbandJohn Dee J.D. Whaley; one sister, Dorothy Eubanks Mitchell; and one brother, Robert L. Eubanks.
The family will receive friends on Monday following the service at Sunset Gardens.At other times they will be at the home of Pat and David Pulley at 309 Yowland Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1242 Dabney Drive, Henderson, NC 27536.
