HENDERSON-Iris Marie Adams Williams, age 80, a resident of 127 Cambridge Way, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born in Vance County on October 11, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Alexander Adams and Edith Breedlove Adams, and was the widow of Warren Lee Williams.
Iris was a retired secretary with the Virginia Department of Transportation.She was a member of City Road United Methodist Church, a member of the Parker Peace Sunday School Class and was a former treasurer and membership secretary.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 12, at 11 am at City Road United Methodist Church by the Rev. Edgar Vergara and the Rev. Dan Baer.A private Entombment will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia.
She is survived by two brothers, Raymond A. Adams, Jr. of Williamsburg, VA and Jimmy G. Adams of Henderson; one sister-in-law, Beverly W. Holmes of Richmond; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall at City Road United Methodist Church.At other times they will be at the home of Jimmy Adams at 731 Lakeview Drive.
