James Benjamin Ayscue

NORLINA-James Benjamin Ayscue, 75, a resident of Dianne Drive in the Vicksboro Community, died Thursday, December 7, 2023 at his home. Born on February 13, 1948 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Brooks Parham Ayscue, Sr. and Mildred Travis Ayscue. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was retired from Parkway Homes. Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Ayscue Family Cemetery in Middleburg by the Dr. Gene Wood. He is survived by three daughters, Tammy A. Long (Rick), Sheila A. Holder (Mike) of Henderson and Michelle A. Bassett of Norlina; twelve grandchildren, Cody Long, Heather Hester, Brittany Hester, Chris Holder, Amber Cash, Dustin Holder, Blake Ayscue, Dillon Bassett, Justin Bassett, Gregory Bassett, Jr, Megan Ayscue, Dawson Ayscue; eighteen great grandchildren; one sister, Pam King of Middleburg; two brothers, Bruce Ayscue of Middleburg and Duck Ayscue of Ridgeway and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by one son, Jesse James Ayscue; two brothers, Brooks Ayscue, Jr. and Mike Ayscue; and one grandson, Jonathan Holder. The family will receive friends at the home of Irene Ayscue, 107 Irene Drive, Norlina, NC in the Vicksboro Community. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the James Ayscue Funeral Fund c/o J. M. White Funeral Home, 60 Zeb Robinson Road, Henderson, NC 27536.
