James Henry Brown

James Henry Brown, age 74, a resident of 1546 Dick Smith Rd., died Saturday, May 24, 2014, at the SECU Hospice Center in Smithfield.
Born on September 21, 1939 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Abner Smith Brown and Grace May Davis Brown. He was a member of Plank Chapel United Methodist Church.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 4 pm at Plank Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Carolyn Roy. He is survived by one daughter, Kristi Brown of Kittrell; two sisters, Ann Finch and husband, Henry of Kittrell, and Jeannette Weaver and husband, Joe of Kittrell; and the mother of his daughter, Juanita F. Harris and husband, Chip of Kittrell. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church following the service. At other times, they will be at 1700 Dick Smith Rd..
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Plank Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, PO Box 507, Kittrell, NC 27544.
