James Louis "Jimmy" Daeke, age 65, a resident of 705 Gun Club Road, died Monday, February 23, 2015, at Duke University Medical Center.Born on October 23, 1949 in Warren County, he was the son of the late Louis Henry Daeke and Edna Burnette Daeke.Jimmy was retired from the Town of Norlina and was a lifetime member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 pm at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Ridgeway, NC by Pastor Dean Herberts.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Alma Chappell Daeke of the home; father-in-law, Rev. Charlie Chappell of the home; and his brother-in-law, Phillip Chappell and wife, Evelyn of Henderson.
The family will receive friends Monday night from 7 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 705 Gun Club Road.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Wayne Pearce, Bryson Pearce, James Tucker, Billy Lawson, Billy Lawson, Jr. and Horace Finn.
