James Clifton "Jimmy" Elliott

HENDERSON - James Clifton “Jimmy” Elliott, 79, a resident of Old Watkins Rd., passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026 at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Born December 18, 1946, in Granville County, he was the son of the late Edna Mae Watkins Elliott and Clifton Latiner Elliott and was the widower of Teresa “Terry” Dorsey Elliott. Jimmy was a member of Harris Chapel United Methodist Church, a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War and was retired from the United States Postal Service as a Rural Letter Carrier.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Harris Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Josh Woodall. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kerri E. Pell (Josh) of Bordentown, NJ, and Cheryl Elliott of Henderson; one sister Jean E. Tippett (Roy) of Henderson; one granddaughter, Montana Pell; two sisters in law, Kathy Overton and Joan Dorsey of Henderson. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Luke Pell; three brothers in law, Donnie Overton, Donnie Dorsey and Clifton Moseley.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Moseley, Bryson Moseley, Justin Moseley, Glenn Watkins, David Pulley and Tony Collier.

The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service at Harris Chapel United Methodist Church. At other times they will be at the home.
