James Henry Ellis, age 72, a resident of 1291 Falkner Town Road, died Thursday, February 10, 2011, at Maria Parham Medical Center.Born in Danville, Virginia on March 10, 1938, he was the son of William Henry Ellis and Mozelle Bennett Ellis.
Mr. Ellis was retired from Harriett & Henderson Yarns, Inc. and Waste Industries.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:00 pm at South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. Frank Sossamon and the Rev. Earl Campbell.Burial will follow in the New Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Faye Robertson Ellis of the home; one daughter, Susan Joy Smith of Franklinton; two sons, Mike Ellis of Youngsville and Jay Ellis of Selma; three sisters, Christine E. Hunt of Henderson, Mary Elizabeth E. Wilson and Josephine E. LaMasta both of Youngsville; one brother, Mickey Ellis of Henderson; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday night from 7:00 until 8:30 pm at J. M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 1291 Falkner Town Road.
Serving as active pall bearers will be Jay Ellis, Bill Stevenson, Jamie Hunt, Anthony Fowler, Dustin Ellis, and David Smith.Serving as honorary pall bearers will be the Gillburg BP Coffee Group.
