James Cleveland J. C. Jackson, age 80, a resident of 314 Finch Road, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010, at Maria Parham Medical Center after a brief illness.Born on November 25, 1929 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Pearl F. Jackson and Mary Holloman Jackson.He was a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Marines.He was a retired electrician with the Vance County Schools and was a lifetime member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11:00 am at Sunset Gardens by Pastor Clarence Parrish.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Overton Jackson of Senior Citizens Nursing Home; three sons, Robert Shelton Jackson, Furman Jackson, and James Jackson all of Henderson; one sister, Mary Leigh J. Faircloth of Selma; two grandchildren; and one step-grandchild.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Sunset Gardens.
At other times they will be at the home of James Jackson at 328 Finch Road.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mens Group at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, P. O. Box3167, Henderson, N. C.27536.
