HENDERSON-James Frazier Moody, age 79, a resident of 2005 Thomas Lane, died Friday, September 18, 2015, in a local nursing home.Born in Granville County on May 8, 1936, he was the son of the late Charlie Frazier Moody and Daisy Elliott Moody.
He was a graduate of the last class of the former Clarksville High School in 1955 and attended Vance Granville Community College from 1972 to 1974.
James was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea, and was retired after 35 years as an electrician at Laurens Glass Co.He was a member of City Road United Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees.James was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at City Road United Methodist Church by the Rev. Edgar Vergara, assisted by Gabriel Lopez, and Jimmy Adams.
Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Alice Faye Norwood Moody of the home; one daughter, Tammy Moody Lare and husband, Steve of Raleigh; one son, Mitchell B. Moody and wife, Kim of Warner Robins, GA; three brothers, John A. Moody and wife, Rose of Clarksville, VA, Charles E. Moody, and Sydney B. Moody and wife, Betty of Townsville; two grandchildren, Brianne M. Poole and husband, Ryan and Ashlynne Moody; one great grandchild, Hunter Poole; three step grandchildren, DeannaCastlevicia and husband, Henry, Marie Lare and husband, Jonah, and Michelle Mandelosi and husband, Jay; five step grandchildren, Caiden, Caleigh, Landon, Zachary, and Brice; and his faithful companion, Jake.
The family will receive friends Monday night from 7:00 to 8:30 at J.M. White Funeral Home.At other times they will be at the home at 2005 Thomas Lane.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Mark Moody, Gerald Moody, Cale Moody, Paul Moody, Tony Moody, Jeremy Moody, Ryan Poole and Steve Finneron.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Alan Norwood, Jeff Wright, Jeff Wilder, Rusty Luke, Howard Hughes, Johnny Riggan, Phil Pendergrass and L.B. ONeal
