James “Jamie” Moss, 50, of Southerland Mill Road, died Sunday, June 22, 2025 at his home. Born January 21, 1975 in Vance County, he was the son of the late Marilyn Dianne Moss and Henry Moss of Henderson. It is with great sadness and sorrow that our precious Jamie has passed away. Heaven needed another “Angel.” He will forever be missed and loved by his family. His memories and love will live on. He’s with his mama, grandma Ellis and papa now in Heaven. Jamie was a member of Freedom Life Church. He attended Southern Vance High School and received his high school diploma. Jamie worked throughout his life and learned many trades. He built furniture, worked at a plastic company making automotive parts, installed metal buildings and was a carpenter. Jamie had a world of knowledge, he could build and repair anything. He had many talents, he was an outstanding carpenter. He was a very creative person. He liked building things, repairing anything electronic, automotive, etc. Jamie was a loving son, grandson, daddy, brother, nephew and husband. He had a heart of gold. He always was there for anyone who needed him. He loved playing cards (especially with his mama). He dearly loved being with family; family meant everything to him. His mama was everything to him. He would tell you his greatest accomplishments in life was his daughter and grandson. Jamie is survived by his wife, Tracy Satterwhite Moss of the home; his daughter, Courtney B. Moss (John) of Henderson; his grandson, Jax Ellington; a step granddaughter, Avery Ellington; a stepdaughter, Kayla Patton; a sister, Ashlei Moss (Deb) of Raleigh; two brothers, Joshua Moss (Heather) of Henderson and Tal Moss of California; a niece, Maddison Moss; his aunt, Betty Jo Ellis Bickel (George) of Wake Forest; his uncle, James Donald Ellis (Lois) of Henderson; a special cousin, Jennifer Ellis (Tony); and many many cousins. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Helen “Becky” Ellis Jones and James “Putt” Ellis; and his paternal grandparents, Margaret Moss Guill and Talton Moss. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 29, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Liberty Christian Church by Rev. Jeff Prewer. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at J.M. White Funeral Home and at other times at 2930 Old County Home Road, Henderson, NC 27537. Serving as pallbearers will be Jay Ellis, Spencer Ellis, Leland Pendergrass, Tony Pendergrass, Tony Newton, Robert Newton, David Gupton, Dale Dunn, Jeremy Abbott; Shane Ellis and Lucas Dunn.
